Are You New To Hair Wearing?

Everyone will know I'm wearing a topper!

Nope. People are not as observant as we think. Those of you who don't follow all the hair accounts on Insta don't have a perfectly blended hairline in mind. People may notice that maybe "something about you seems different," or they may ask where you get your hair done. However, they will never suspect that you have an extra layer of hair on your head. If they do, hats off to them! They may also secretly save alternate hair images to their camera roll.

Remember, hair toppers don't always come to you and fit like the perfect Cinderella shoe. It will most likely require some style experimentation, a good wash and a blow-dry to make it yours. Plus, taking it to your hairstylist to have it cut and blended to fit your own natural hair can make a huge difference in your confidence in your new topper.

Remember, you are not obligated to tell people that you have hair. Just smile, hold your head high and say, "Yeah, you like it?"—and both parties can move toward their life goals. If you feel like people are constantly staring at your hair, don’t jump to the conclusion that they “must know it’s not mine”… instead, just consider that it’s actually because your hair looks amazing! no more, no less. Don’t apologize for having the best hair in the office.

Your topper needs to match your hair perfectly.

This is not entirely correct. Your topper doesn't need to match your own hair perfectly. The main reason is that your topper will cover most of your hair.

One of the benefits of growing your hair out and being open about it is that you can change your appearance! If the color of the topper's roots is similar to your natural hair color, you can pull off almost anything. However, if you want something closer to your natural color, if your color goes lighter or darker, that's absolutely fine! Try not to let yourself get caught up in a color research frenzy. Go with your intuition and ask for some pictures of the color in different lights, such as natural sunlight, bright windows, and indoor lighting. Yes, lighting can actually kill us! Who knew a piece of blonde could come in 7 different shades depending on where you are in the world. If in doubt, go slightly lighter as a hairdresser can easily darken a topper, but lightening a topper is a different story entirely.

If still in doubt, yes you can email us some clear photos of your natural hair and we will hold your hand. But take some photos with a purpose! Taking a selfie in front of a bright window to show every angle is very helpful!

My hair loss has just begun, so it's probably too early to get into the hair loss arena.

Nope! Again, this is personal preference. Many people (including celebrities and television personalities) wear wigs and toppers not to cover up hair loss but to enhance the hair they already have. These people use wigs and toppers as fashion accessories! How cool is that? If your hair loss journey is just beginning, it's entirely up to you whether you choose to change your hair or go natural.

From our experience chatting with hundreds of customers every day, a common comment is always, "I wish I had joined earlier". You don't realize how easy life can be until you have beautiful hair! The styling was so easy and honestly our toppers and wigs made everything look great!

So there we have it! We hope we were able to clarify some of these tougher questions and get you one step closer to the hair of your dreams! If you have anything else tough you'd like us to discuss, please drop us a line. We're always happy to hear from you!
